Chinese Tea Pu Erh Benefits
Pu-erh tea has been highly sought after for many years, especially for its satisfying taste, but also for its health benefits.
Helps with Weight Loss
Pu-erh tea helps with weight loss by promoting the hydrolysis of stored fat in the body and reducing the synthesis of new fat, as confirmed by studies from researchers such as a 2012 study and a 2016 animal study.
Furthermore, studies from Huang in 2019 and Ye et al. in 2021 showed that Pu-erh tea can ensure a favorable gut microbiota, which can cause weight gain and fat accumulation in obesity caused by animals.
Kubota etal. 2011 A study by BMI of Japanese adults and overweight and overweight animals showed that drinking Pu-Erh tea three times a day helped reduce weight gain and decreased BMI and belly fat measurements.
However, the effect of Pu-erh tea on weight loss remains controversial because most studies have been conducted on animals, not humans. As a result, more research is needed to directly correlate weight loss benefits with Pu-erh tea consumption.
Improved Liver Health
Several studies on what is Pu-erh tea have established that it can help prevent or reverse liver diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This was evident from an animal study by Cai et al. in 2016, where Pu-erh Tea Extract prevented fat-rich obesity and fat-rich fat accumulation and liver damage and lectures in animal patients; another study by Zheng et al. in 2014, where administration of Pu-erh extract also established that it helps protect the liver from damage caused by side effects of drugs such as cisplatin, a known chemotherapy drug for liver damage.
Better Skin Health
Consumption of PU-ERH tea extract can improve skin health and prevent oxidative damage to the skin due to harmful environmental conditions and pollution. This is supported by a study by Roda et al. 2019, which found that PU-ERH extract has high antioxidant capacity due to its high polyphenol content. Furthermore, the same researchers noted a link between the antioxidant levels of PU-ERH and its inherent enzyme inhibitory activity, which could be used in future skin care and anti-aging product applications.
In addition, Bonte et al. 2016, Pu-Erh extract can prevent skin aging through detoxification and elastin protection. Elastin is known as one of the most important proteins of the skin and changes with age; Pu-Erh extract has high concentrations of polyphenols, certain catechins, and catechin oligomers that help prevent changes in the elastin protein and protect the skin.
Correct Cholesterol Levels
A 2009 study by Hou et al. showed that levels of "bad cholesterol," known as low-density lipoprotein, were reduced in animals injected with PU-ERH tea extract. In addition, Huang et al. 2019 also found that theabrandone, one of the most abundant pigments and metabolically active components in Pu'er tea, increased levels of ileal conjugated bile acids. This increase stimulated intestinal signaling pathways and reduced cholesterol in the liver.
As with the PU-ERH tea weight loss studies, most of the research on the effects of PU-ERH tea consumption on cholesterol levels has been conducted in animal patients. Therefore, further research is needed to correlate cholesterol levels with PU-ERH tea consumption.
